12: Web services manager William Roy

By Joey  //  Conversation  //  No Comments

William Roy, Web Services Director at McClung Companies.  Since I’ve known William I’ve gotten to hear the change in direction, the changes in emphasis, and the growth of his company, Immerge Technologies.  Which started out as a tech company.  Then became a Web services company.  Which got acquired by a 65-year old printing company. Different story from a lot of creative  entrepreneurs, good stuff.

11: Designer Darcey Ohlin Lacy

By Joey  //  Conversation  //  No Comments

Episode 11 I’m talking to Darcey Ohlin Lacy from Watermark Design.  Darcey is a designer, Watermark is a company she started, her career path is not one I’d heard before, and seems a little non-traditional.  But hey, most career paths are. We get into the day-to-day of running a design shop producing for Web, print and more.

Find Darcey and Watermark online, and Twitter and Facebook.

#10: Editor/compositor Kevin Johnson

By Joey  //  Conversation  //  No Comments

Kevin Johnson!  While he was still in college, Kevin interned with my company, and he was good out of the gate. He was a fast editor, good sense of pacing, style, able to commit to cuts, throw in some composite work… just make a good video.  After Kevin graduated, he quickly got hired by  Interface Media Group in D.C. After five years doing a variety of short and long form editing and compositing, Kevin made the move to the Travel Channel’s promo department.

Kevin’s on Twitter and has some examples of his work on his Vimeo site.

#9 Editor/director/DP Dave Gorrie

By Joey  //  Conversation  //  No Comments

From starting out in music management, to editor at the Discovery Channel family of channels, to senior staff editor helping build a boutique post/production house, then starting his own post/production house, there’re few creative situations Dave Gorrie hasn’t been in.  Dave has been an acquaintance for over a decade, someone I always enjoy talking with about projects, process, or whatever else crops up.

In addition to his post experience, Dave directs, DPs, produces, works with clients during pre-production, now through his own company Red Apple Post. Dave is on Twitter, Red Apple Post is on Twitter; check ‘em out!
